"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way."
As a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, I work in a way that puts you first.
Being trained as an integrative therapist means that I am able to tailor the therapy to suit your needs, integrating different models and ways of working. I offer the flexibility to work short or long term, depending on what you are looking for.
I work relationally, meaning that I am present and in the moment with you. I endeavour to be a safe, steady human presence that is willing to engage with you moment to moment, whatever emerges. I remain genuine and congruent, and aware of my own inner experiences.
The client/therapist relationship therefore works as a collaborative partnership; a constantly evolving, negotiated and co-created dialogical process to which we both contribute.
Recognising and respecting you as a whole person, avoiding restrictive and possibly dated models that categorise or label, I work with you to explore the meaning you have made of yourself, your relationships with others, and your world.
As Psychotherapeutic Counselling is a shared process, finding a therapist you feel comfortable with is important. I therefore offer an introductory session at a lower rate to give us an opportunity to meet and see how we feel about working together before any commitments.
